Next, we use an aeration machine to pull small plugs of soil out of the ground; typically about 2-4 inches deep. We leave the plugs on the lawn to break down naturally and let those nutrients soak back into the soil. The holes that we created will allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the grass roots more easily.
At Summit, we do offer optional add-on services that can give your lawn an extra boost. Usually, we recommend seeding services along with aeration; seeding will add new grass seeds directly into the holes we created, thickening your lawn.
Over the next few weeks, the plugs will break down, which will help improve the structure of your lawn, allowing watering and mowing to resume as usual.
